VIBE Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

VIBE ("we", "us", "the app") lets you ask yes/no questions about places nearby and get real answers from people actually there. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1. What we collect

DataWhy we collect it
Phone numberTo create your account and log you in via SMS OTP
Location (GPS)To show you nearby places and questions, and to notify nearby helpers when someone asks a question
Photos you uploadProfile picture, and photos attached to answers for "photo-required" questions
Questions, answers, and chat messagesThe core of the app — these are shown to other users as part of how VIBE works
Coin transactionsTo track your VIBE Coins balance and history
Payment recordsWhen you buy coins, we record the transaction. We do not see or store your card/UPI details — payments are handled entirely by Razorpay
Push notification tokenTo send you notifications (e.g. "someone answered your question")
Ratings and activity statsVibe Score, badges, response rate — calculated from your activity in the app

2. Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We use these third-party services to make VIBE work, and each only gets what it needs to do its job:

Other VIBE users can see: your display name, profile picture, Vibe Score/badges, and (depending on the feature) your questions, answers, and public chat messages. Your phone number is never shown to other users.

3. Location data specifically

VIBE only uses your location to (a) show you places and questions near you, and (b) determine which nearby helpers to notify about a new question (within about 500 meters). We store your last known location so the app works instantly on open, without waiting for a fresh GPS fix. You can deny location permission — the app will still work, just without location-based features.

4. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Questions and answers remain visible as part of the app's public record (so other users can see past activity at a place) even after they're no longer "live."

5. Your choices

VIBE is under active development. If you spot something in this policy that doesn't match how the app actually behaves, please tell us — we'd rather fix the app or the policy than leave a mismatch.

6. Children's privacy

VIBE is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of VIBE after changes means you accept the updated policy.
